How to add a donation button to WordPress
Add a CrowdCreate fundraising widget to WordPress with a Custom HTML block. Funders pledge on your page, and the money goes directly to your Stripe account. The exact path depends on whether you're on WordPress.com or self-hosted WordPress.org.
What you need on WordPress
On self-hosted WordPress.org, you can paste the snippet on any plan — you control the site. On WordPress.com, custom HTML and scripts require the Business plan ($25/mo) or higher; the free, Personal, and Premium plans strip scripts out, so the widget won't load there. If you're on a WordPress.com plan below Business, share your hosted page at crowdcreate.app/c/your-name instead; it works on any plan.
The exact line you'll paste
This is the whole install — one script tag. Your version arrives with your own site ID the moment you sign up; the steps below show where it goes in WordPress.
<script async src="https://crowdcreate.app/embed/v1.js" data-site-id="your-site-id" integrity="sha384-5uncKSka6ObaFVcYkRYEIlufPx0xNsoxnp3qQmYhm0wzYIdKgBny8pOkPgWNUyt+" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>This is the exact snippet — you get yours, with your own site ID, free after signup.
Step by step
- 1Open the page or post in the WordPress block editor and click the + to add a block.
- 2Search for Custom HTML and add it.
- 3Paste your CrowdCreate snippet into the block.
- 4To add it site-wide instead, go to Appearance → Editor (block themes) or your theme's footer, and paste the snippet there.
- 5Update or Publish, open the live page, and make a $1 test pledge to confirm it works.

Common questions
Do I need a paid plan on WordPress?
It depends. Some WordPress plans restrict custom code or embeds, so the inline widget may need a higher tier. If yours doesn't allow it, the hosted donation page works on any plan — you just link to it instead of embedding.
Where does the money go?
Into your own Stripe account, directly. CrowdCreate never holds or routes your donations — Stripe pays out to your bank on your schedule.
What does it cost?
$20/mo flat. No percentage of donations, no per-transaction fee from us. Cancel anytime, with a 30-day refund.
