CrowdCreate

How to add a donation button to any website (HTML embed)

If you can edit your site's HTML — a hand-built site, a static-site generator, GitHub Pages, or any builder that lets you paste a script tag — you can add the CrowdCreate fundraising widget. Funders pledge on your page, and the money goes directly to your Stripe account.

What you need on any website

The only requirement is that your site lets you paste a <script> tag into the HTML and serve it to visitors. Most builders on a paid plan allow this; most free plans and locked editors (Substack, free Wix, free Webflow) don't. If your platform strips scripts — or you're not sure — share your hosted page at crowdcreate.app/c/your-name instead; it needs no code at all and works everywhere.

The exact line you'll paste

This is the whole install — one script tag. Your version arrives with your own site ID the moment you sign up; the steps below show where it goes in any website.

<script async src="https://crowdcreate.app/embed/v1.js" data-site-id="your-site-id" integrity="sha384-5uncKSka6ObaFVcYkRYEIlufPx0xNsoxnp3qQmYhm0wzYIdKgBny8pOkPgWNUyt+" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>

This is the exact snippet — you get yours, with your own site ID, free after signup.

Step by step

  1. 1Open the HTML file or template where you want the widget.
  2. 2Paste your CrowdCreate snippet where you want it to appear, or just before the closing </body> tag for a footer placement.
  3. 3Save the file and deploy or upload it the way you normally publish.
  4. 4Open the live page and make a $1 test pledge to confirm it works.

Common questions

Do I need a paid plan on any website?

It depends. Some any website plans restrict custom code or embeds, so the inline widget may need a higher tier. If yours doesn't allow it, the hosted donation page works on any plan — you just link to it instead of embedding.

Where does the money go?

Into your own Stripe account, directly. CrowdCreate never holds or routes your donations — Stripe pays out to your bank on your schedule.

What does it cost?

$20/mo flat. No percentage of donations, no per-transaction fee from us. Cancel anytime, with a 30-day refund.
