How to add a donation button to Squarespace
Add a CrowdCreate fundraising widget to any Squarespace page by pasting one snippet into a Code Block. Funders pledge without leaving your site, and the money goes straight to your Stripe account.
What you need on Squarespace
Squarespace lets you paste custom code on the Business plan ($23/mo) and higher — that's the plan you need for Code Blocks and Code Injection to run scripts. The Personal plan ($16/mo) restricts custom code, so the widget won't load there. If you're on Personal or the free trial, skip the snippet and share your hosted page instead: every account gets one at crowdcreate.app/c/your-name, and it works on any plan.
The exact line you'll paste
This is the whole install — one script tag. Your version arrives with your own site ID the moment you sign up; the steps below show where it goes in Squarespace.
<script async src="https://crowdcreate.app/embed/v1.js" data-site-id="your-site-id" integrity="sha384-5uncKSka6ObaFVcYkRYEIlufPx0xNsoxnp3qQmYhm0wzYIdKgBny8pOkPgWNUyt+" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>This is the exact snippet — you get yours, with your own site ID, free after signup.
Step by step
- 1In Squarespace, open the page where you want the widget and click Edit.
- 2Click an insert point, choose Code from the block menu, and paste your CrowdCreate snippet (it's tied to your account — copy it from your dashboard).
- 3Click outside the block, then Save.
- 4For a site-wide install instead, go to Settings → Advanced → Code Injection and paste the snippet into the Footer field, then Save. (Code Injection also requires the Business plan.)
- 5Click Visit Site, find your widget, and make a $1 test pledge to confirm it works.

Common questions
Do I need a paid plan on Squarespace?
It depends. Some Squarespace plans restrict custom code or embeds, so the inline widget may need a higher tier. If yours doesn't allow it, the hosted donation page works on any plan — you just link to it instead of embedding.
Where does the money go?
Into your own Stripe account, directly. CrowdCreate never holds or routes your donations — Stripe pays out to your bank on your schedule.
What does it cost?
$20/mo flat. No percentage of donations, no per-transaction fee from us. Cancel anytime, with a 30-day refund.
