Online donations for small museums on your own website
Add a donation widget to your museum or historical society's own website so visitors and members can give toward exhibits, preservation, and operations without leaving your page. The money goes straight to your organization's Stripe account — we never hold it or take a cut. It's a flat $20 a month.
Preservation runs on patient money
A small museum or historical society funds slow, unglamorous work — archiving, conservation, keeping the doors open — from membership, admissions, and the giving of people who care about the place. A percentage platform takes a cut of that giving, money meant for preservation going to a processor instead. For an organization watching every dollar, that's a real loss. And the gift often happens on a third-party page rather than the site where your community already reads about your collection and your hours — a handoff that breaks the connection right at the moment someone decided to support the work.
Where CrowdCreate fits a museum
CrowdCreate puts a donate button on the site you already run. Paste one snippet and supporters give toward a specific exhibit or preservation project, or to general operations — once, or monthly. The money lands in your organization's own Stripe account, and at a flat $20 a month no percentage of a preservation gift goes to a platform. The donor record is yours — names, amounts, dates — in your Stripe and dashboard, exportable for acknowledgments, grant reporting, and your own files.
- One-time gifts for an exhibit or project and recurring support for operations, both on your own site.
- A flat $20/mo with no cut of what you raise; the percentage a typical tool keeps stays with preservation instead.
- Funds land in your organization's own Stripe account; we never hold or route the money.
- Your donor list is yours to export for acknowledgments and grant reports; funder PII auto-expires after 13 months.
Where CrowdCreate might not fit
CrowdCreate does not issue tax-deductible donation receipts, and it isn't a membership-management system. We move the gift into your organization's Stripe account and give you the records; if you're a registered nonprofit and donors expect a receipt, you issue it from those records. For tiered memberships with benefits, keep your membership tool and use CrowdCreate for the donation ask.

Common questions
Can donors give toward a specific exhibit or project?
Yes. Point the ask at a particular exhibit, a conservation project, or general operations, and the gifts go straight to your organization's own Stripe account. You can run different appeals over the year.
Is this a membership system?
No — there are no membership tiers, benefits, or member logins. If you run tiered memberships, keep your membership tool for that and use CrowdCreate for the donation ask. It does handle recurring gifts, which suits ongoing supporters.
Does CrowdCreate take a percentage of gifts?
No. A flat $20 a month and no cut. Stripe charges its standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢ per gift), which goes to Stripe, not to us.
