CrowdCreate

Online donations for community radio on your own website

Add a pledge widget to your community or college station's own website so listeners can support the broadcast without leaving your page. The money goes straight to your station's Stripe account — we never hold it or take a cut. It's a flat $20 a month, through pledge drive and the quiet months alike.

What a percentage takes from listener support

Listener-supported radio lives or dies on pledges, and a pledge drive concentrates a year's giving into a short, intense window. A percentage platform takes its cut of that whole surge — money listeners gave to keep a show on the air, going to a processor instead. Over a big drive, that percentage is real airtime. And the pledge often happens on a third-party page rather than your station's own site, the place listeners already go for the schedule and the stream — one more handoff at the moment someone decided to give.

Where CrowdCreate fits a station

CrowdCreate puts the pledge form on the site you already run. Paste one snippet and listeners pledge there — a one-time gift during the drive, or a recurring monthly pledge that smooths your income across the year. The money lands in your station's own Stripe account, and a flat $20 a month means no percentage of the drive total goes to a platform. The pledge record is yours — who gave, how much, when — in your Stripe and dashboard, exportable for thank-you reads and your own files.

  • One-time pledges during the drive and recurring monthly support between drives, both on your own site.
  • A flat $20/mo with no cut of the drive total; the percentage a typical tool keeps stays on the air instead.
  • Pledges land in your station's own Stripe account; we never hold or route the money.
  • Your supporter list is yours to export for on-air thank-yous and records; funder PII auto-expires after 13 months.

Where CrowdCreate might not fit

CrowdCreate does not issue tax-deductible donation receipts. We move the pledge into your station's Stripe account and give you the records. If your station is a registered nonprofit and listeners expect a receipt, you issue it from those records — don't present a pledge through CrowdCreate as tax-deductible on our account.

Common questions

Can it handle a pledge-drive spike and quiet months?

Yes. A flat $20 a month doesn't change with volume, so a big drive costs the same as a slow month — and recurring monthly pledges through the widget help smooth your income between drives. Funds go straight to your station's own Stripe.

Do listeners leave our website to pledge?

No. The widget sits on your own site and the pledge happens there. If you'd rather share a link — on air or in a newsletter — every account also gets a hosted page at crowdcreate.app/c/your-name that works anywhere.

Does CrowdCreate take a cut of pledges?

No. A flat $20 a month and no cut. Stripe charges its standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢ per pledge), which goes to Stripe, not to us.
