What is a platform fee?
A platform fee is the cut a donation or fundraising service takes from the money you raise, separate from the payment processor's charge.
A platform fee is what the fundraising service itself charges for using it — typically a percentage of each donation. It is separate from, and on top of, the payment processor's fee. A platform that advertises "5%" usually means a 5% platform fee in addition to processing.
Platform fees scale with what you raise: the more you bring in, the more the percentage takes. A flat monthly fee works the opposite way — it stays the same no matter your volume, so it tends to be cheaper once donations are steady.
CrowdCreate charges no platform fee. Pricing is a flat $20/month, and 0% of your donations is taken. The only fee on a donation is Stripe's standard processing charge, which goes to Stripe, not to CrowdCreate.
CrowdCreate is a $20/month donation widget for your own website — no cut of your donations, money straight to your own Stripe.
