CrowdCreate

Best donation widget for clubs and teams

Clubs, teams, and groups raise money in bursts — a season, a trip, a fundraiser drive — and usually run on volunteer time. The right tool is one that's cheap, simple, and lives on the group's own page. Here's what to weigh, and where a flat-fee widget fits.

What to look for

Simplicity for volunteers

Whoever runs the club this year has to manage it. A tool that's quick to set up and hand off beats a powerful one nobody can operate.

Cost for irregular raising

Clubs often raise seasonally. Weigh a flat monthly fee against a percentage cut for the months you're actually active.

Where contributions land

Confirm the money goes to the group's own account, so handoffs between treasurers stay clean.

Events, dues, or open support

If you mainly sell tickets or collect dues, an events or membership tool may fit better than a donation widget. If it's open contributions toward the group, a widget is simpler.

Why CrowdCreate is a strong pick

CrowdCreate suits a club or team that wants contributions on its own page without a percentage cut. It's a flat $20 a month, 0% of what you raise (Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ per payment applies and goes to Stripe), simple enough to hand to next year's organizer, and the money lands in the group's own Stripe account. For open fundraising toward a season or a goal, it's an easy, cheap fit — and you can pause it in the off-season if you like.

When CrowdCreate isn't the best choice

CrowdCreate is not the best choice if your fundraising is mostly ticketed events, auctions, or membership dues — tools built for events and ticketing handle those flows in ways a donation widget doesn't. If selling tickets or running an auction is the core of your raise, choose one of those instead.

Frequently asked questions

Can we pause the $20/mo subscription in the off-season?
Yes. Cancel it when the season ends and resume when you start raising again. The widget will stop loading on your site while it's paused; your hosted page also won't accept gifts during that time.
Where does the money land when contributions come in?
Directly in the club's own Stripe account, which the current treasurer controls. Handoffs to next year's treasurer happen at the Stripe account level, not inside CrowdCreate.
Can we use CrowdCreate for ticketed events or membership dues?
Not really — those flows are different. CrowdCreate handles open contributions. Ticketing and dues collection are better handled by event-ticketing or registration tools designed for that work.
