Donation fee savings calculator
Set your monthly donation volume and the percentage a platform would take, and see the concrete per-year difference against CrowdCreate's flat $20/mo. It's honest in both directions — at low volume it tells you the percentage is the cheaper choice. No sign-up; the math runs in your browser.
Raising $1,000 a month through a 5% platform costs about $600 a year in platform fees. CrowdCreate's flat $20/mo is $240 a year. That's about $360 a year you keep instead of handing to a platform.
Compares platform fees only. Stripe's standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢ per donation) applies on both and goes to Stripe; CrowdCreate adds nothing on top. Estimates only.
Where a flat fee pays off
A percentage cut grows with every dollar you raise; a flat $20/mo stays $20 whether you raise $500 or $50,000. That means the more your fundraising grows, the more a flat fee saves you — and the gap widens every month you keep raising.
But the reverse is true at the bottom: below the break-even volume, a percentage (or a free tier) costs you less than $240 a year, and you should use it. This tool draws that line so you can decide on real numbers, not a sales pitch.
Common questions
Does this include Stripe's processing fee?
No, and on purpose. Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ per donation applies on virtually every platform, including CrowdCreate, and it goes to Stripe — so it cancels out when you compare. This calculator shows the platform-fee difference: a percentage cut vs CrowdCreate's flat $20/mo.
Why does it sometimes say the percentage is cheaper?
Because at low volume it genuinely is. A flat $20/mo only beats a percentage once you're raising enough that the percentage would have cost more than $240 a year. Below that break-even the calculator says so plainly — we'd rather you start on a cheaper option than overpay us.
What percentage should I enter?
Whatever a platform you're considering takes on donations — many sit around 5%, some higher on certain plans, some lower. Enter the real number for an honest comparison. Our /vs pages list the rates we've checked.
